Curiosa e singular formação montanhosa que faz parte da heterogeneidade ambiental do vale Duriense Português, esta Serra, coroando a paisagem entre Mirandela e Murça, é uma verdadeira e genuína obra de valor incalculável. Pré-História recente, abrigos, estações de Arte Rupestre, povoados fortificados - um património com 7.000 anos (desde a pré-história pós-glacial) que ainda revela pinturas esquemáticas frágeis e uma articulação íntima com o território envolvente. Ficamos maravilhados com a floresta, a diversidade da flora e a forma de colonização dos seres humanos; este refúgio dinâmico, com vegetação ímpar, é um tratado de natureza que nos ensina sobre o processo de neolitização (agricultura e criação de gado). A Serra é o centro de uma grande unidade espacial e geomorfológica e orienta a região envolvente. O respetivo povoamento pré-histórico está articulado com o cume da Serra. Dado o seu valor para essas comunidades pré-históricas, transformou-se numa Montanha Sagrada em que a catedral é a Serra. As fotografias de Luís Ribeiro fortalecem e evidenciam um diálogo afetivo com a Serra – uma partilha de sentimentos e emoções.

Curious and unique mountain formation that is part of the environmental heterogeneity of the Portuguese Duriense valley, this mountain, crowning the landscape between Mirandela and Murça, It is a true and genuine work of incalculable value. Recent prehistory, shelters, Rock Art stations, fortified settlements - a 7,000-year-old heritage (since post-glacial prehistory) that still reveals fragile schematic paintings and an intimate connection with the surrounding territory. We were amazed by the forest, the diversity of flora and the way of colonization of human beings; this dynamic refuge, with unique vegetation, is a treaty of nature which teaches us about the Neolithization process (agriculture and livestock farming). The Mountain is the center of a large spatial and geomorphological unit and guides the surrounding region. The respective prehistoric settlement is articulated with the summit of the Mountain. Given its value to these prehistoric communities, it became a Holy Mountain whose cathedral is the Mountain. Luís Ribeiro's photographs strengthen and highlight an affective dialogue with Serra – a sharing of feelings and emotions.
